1. Your role in Kinelux

  • “Casting director”: the talent pool, roles, presentations and approvals, with admin rights.
  • “Casting assistant”: the preparation (profiles, shortlists, emails), without the settings.
  • “Extras coordinator” and “Extras assistant”: needs per day, sign-up, calls, check-in.
  • “Casting reviewer” and “Client / agency”: see only the presentations sent to them and give their feedback.

2. Casting a role

  • Start from the character (asset): the role takes its name and image.
  • Write the role's brief (the AI can suggest a text based on the script).
  • Search the talent pool (plain-language search available) and add talents to the shortlist.
  • Request self-tapes or set up auditions.
  • Send a presentation to the director, the production or the client; feedback comes back per role.
  • An alert warns you if a talent is already booked on another project on the same dates.

3. Into the film's team

The talents you choose are imported into Cast & Crew: their profile becomes the actor's card, linked to the character, and feeds the call sheets and the DOOD. See the Cast & Crew guide.

4. Extras

  • The needs come from the shooting schedule (the scenes' “Extras” elements): the largest quantity per label and per day.
  • The sign-up QR poster and the sign-up page (French / English, cropped photo) feed the talent pool.
  • Calls go out by email; each extra has a call QR code.
  • Check-in is done in the iPhone app (scanning the QR code, offline included); the CSV export is used for payroll.

5. For talents

Each talent has their own “My castings” page (on the website and in the app): their current roles, their self-tape requests, their calls.

6. Frequently asked questions

  • A reviewer can't see anything? They only see the presentations sent to them.
  • A day's extras total looks surprising? Keep the same label from one scene to the next: Kinelux keeps the largest quantity per label.
