1. Your role in Kinelux
The “Head of department” template is tied to your department: you see the script, the shot breakdown and the call sheets, and you edit what concerns your department. The “Crew member” template gives read access limited to your department.
2. Your call
Details: Call sheet guide.
- The call sheet arrives via a personal link: your call time (your department's, with its offset), the locations, the access map, the hospital, the weather.
- Confirm you have read it in one click; the link opens without an account.
- In the iPhone app, “My call time” and “My shoot” show this information, offline included.
3. Preparing your department
- Breakdown: the elements of each scene (costumes, props, vehicles, effects, animals, extras) are entered on the shooting schedule strips, with quantities; they flow through to the day's call sheet.
- Camera and lighting: the Lighting Diagram prepares lighting plans (real fixtures, photometry, equipment list and generator power); see the video tutorial in the help.
- Shot breakdown: the shot list gives the planned shots, lenses and camera moves.
- Costumes and HMU: photo continuity per character and per scene can be viewed from the call sheet.
4. The shooting schedule
Read-only: days, locations, scenes and the day view (run of day, call times by department, map of the day). The DOOD shows each character's days — useful for costumes and HMU.
Details: Shooting schedule guide.
5. On iPhone
- Virtual camera (viewfinder), location scans (room scan), light readings and sun on location: scouting tools in the app.
- Scouting photos are sent to the project and join the location's asset.
- Account → Help menu for these guides.
6. Frequently asked questions
- You can't see your department on the sheet? Your Cast & Crew card must state your department; ask the production.
- A module is read-only? That is your access template: the production can extend it.
